A few months ago, Harper seemed to work well for Overleaf through the browser. However, sometime after #1395 was posted Harper stopped providing any check on text, acting as if it were disabled, even after explicitly disabling and re-enabling. This behavior is consistent across both Gecko and Blink based browsers on all Harper versions in the past few months (I apologize I didn't pay closer attention to when it stopped working). It's disappointing as the hosted website editor provided by Overleaf has a built-in spell/grammar check that is woefully inadequate.
Collabora seems to have the exact same issue on my self-hosted instance.
This is all on my work provided MacBook Pro M2 Max.
