Enhanced Logging

There is some logging currently in place, but we should double check and verify that there is enough data logged on both push and pull.

When using an "active" transport layer (such as REST API) both the sending and receiving site should log the transaction.

Logging seems to be a very important feature for some users so it should also have enough hooks to be as extendable as possible.
