XAML C# Expressions

It seems MAUI is releasing limited C# support in XAML with .NET 11. Is this being tracked on the Avalonia-side?

I hope so, someday. The Avalonia team has always been wary of needing to provide tooling for these things which is a fair consideration. Allowing binding to static functions could be an ok middle ground if expressions won't happen.

For third-party offerings, there are things like InlineSharp in SukiUI that leverages Expressions: https://github.com/kikipoulet/SukiUI/blob/88f11a3059d6f8fd4e38ca4ce6a9cba8eb5a07b2/SukiUI.Demo/Features/Helpers/SyntaxHelpers.axaml#L74

That's not compatible with NativeAOT, etc, so that's a consideration. There are also BindingExpressions in Avalonia 12 which should make some interesting bindings / MarkupExtensions possible. If we could extensively tap into the validation process for MarkupExtensions at compile-time then I wouldn't even worry about what the Avalonia team can/will do in the area.
