Testing concurrenct code using XCTest

While reading this lesson, specifically the part:

We can solve this by using observation tracking. In this case, we’re dealing with @Observable attached to ArticleSearcher, but you can use @Published properties when you’re dealing with an ObservableObject. The focus for this lesson is on writing expectations that work with async/await, no matter which technique you’ve used.

Led me to believe that I could use the withObservationTracking on my viewModel, which is an ObservableObject, with @published properties. I never got my test to pass though, and according to some searching (and prompting) it seems that it only works with Observable classes.

Now I was wondering, what would be the best way to observe the change of an @published property in my test?

@WJacobsNL I'd recommend migrating to @observable, which should be doable and makes your code future proof:

If that's not possible, you can decide to use Combine with @Published to monitor for changes.
