Ongoing repository and products support

Can anybody possibly comment, maybe particularly @pamelafox (because you appear to contribute to both this and the below repositories) - if you are aware that there will be any near to medium, and possibly even longer term support for this repository and the products utilised within it?

Another repository (below) which appears to be possibly using some newer (in preview) products appears to be a newer solution, however is there an estimated time for that to become more 'production ready'; in terms of general availability for the products used? Or are we advised to continue using this repository as a base for the upcoming medium to long-term?

Yes, we are continuing to maintain this repository. I've been doing a live stream series about it for the past month: https://aka.ms/RAGDD-f

Most of the products used in this repository are in a GA (Generally Available) status. A few of the optional features use preview-level offerings, like media description with Azure Content Understanding. You should be prepared for changes for any preview-level offerings. We also will be upgrading the older models shortly, like gpt-35-turbo and text-embedding-ada-002, but the repo already supports using the newest models, via azd environment variables.

The contoso-chat repository shows a different RAG approach, and was designed to highlight the use of Azure AI Foundry specifically. It's commonly used in teaching presentations at Microsoft AI Tour events. I believe that team is about to merge a few PRs to upgrade that repository to newer models, along with other changes.

This repository is designed to be a fairly generic RAG solution that you can easily adapt to your use case and productionize if desired (following suggestions in the productionizing guide).
