Occasionally, we see [docX] being displayed throughout the content and not actually parsed linking to the relevant sources

Expected behavior

The references should be parsed with no [docX] being displayed in the content

Also, please share a few additional details — did you perform the default deployment without modifying any parameters, or were there any custom configurations applied during deployment? This information will help us troubleshoot the issue more effectively.

Please see attached the screenshot with the citations not parsed and referenced correctly

Additionally, it doesn't save the chat conversation in the database when this issue occurs and when retrieving past conversations, the references are also not there.

The deployment has been modified to:

• Filter results from the search index
• Add timestamp on the UI
• Allow editing previous message
• Use Bing

But otherwise the parsing functionality of the documents was not modified, and uses the functionality from the accelerator.

Hi @samielava Thank you for sharing the screenshot and deployment details.
Currently, the parsing functionality works as expected when the response includes citations and references in the format [docx], allowing the UI to correctly render and link those references.

As per the attached screenshot, the citations are missing. We suspect that the recent deployment changes—specifically the filtering of results from the search index—may have impacted the response payload, causing it to no longer return citation metadata. As a result, the UI is unable to parse and display citation references.

Please debug and confirm whether the citation objects are being returned in the response. If they are missing due to code changes, kindly share the modified code details or configuration updates. This will help us investigate and provide a quick resolution.
