Describe the bug

I am trying to install Azure Cli by running this command, tried so many ways (Updated Python and Installed "libsodium" manually but nothing works.

Tried below commands:

• brew update && brew install azure-cli
• brew install libsodium
• mv ~/Downloads/libsodium-1.0.20.tar.gz $(brew --cache)/libsodium
• brew install libsodium --build-from-source
• brew doctor
• brew update
• brew upgrade
• az version
• brew update
• brew install azure-cli
• az version
• curl -sL https://aka.ms/install-azure-cli | bash
• curl -sL https://aka.ms/InstallAzureCLIDeb | bash
• brew update
• brew install azure-cli

• tar -xzf libsodium-1.0.20.tar.gz
• cd libsodium-1.0.20
• ./configure
• make
• make check
• sudo make install

brew install azure-cli

Are you using macOS 11.7.10? This version is not supported by homebrew.

I can't find a workaround except upgrading your OS.

I've been running into this for the past month or two on a machine with Big Sur 11.7.10. Both shellcheck and php fail at the libsodium step:

Though when I curl https://download.libsodium.org/libsodium/releases/libsodium-1.0.20.tar.gz or visit it from a web browser, the file downloads fine.

Are there any workarounds? I understand macOS 11.7.10 is no longer officially supported, but the machine still runs fine for development work and it'd be a shame to trashbin it.

p.s. I also tried the workaround instructions at https://github.com/orgs/Homebrew/discussions/5965, but no luck, brew config still shows curl at /usr/bin/curl.

This is the ecosystem of homebrew, there is nothing we can do.

Alternatively, you may install azure-cli with pip: #20476
