[Reference feedback]: Information for connecting container instance to log analytics workspace is incorrect

this doc here is misleading: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cli/azure/container?view=azure-cli-latest#az-container-create

references to "myworkspace" and "workspace name" are incorrect. only log analytics workspace id (not name or azure resource ID) works here.

the more detailed documentation for the field itself also has this error:

Possible solution (Extracted from existing issue, might be incorrect; please verify carefully)

Solution 1:

It doesn't work with name or resource ID, however it works with Workspace ID (=guid), so docs need to be updated.

az monitor log-analytics workspace show -g $RESOURCE_GROUP -n $WORKSPACE_NAME --query customerId -o tsv

Solution 2:

If you try to use the name or resource id, the following error will occur, whereas if you use the workspace id as the parameter name and error message suggest, it succeeds:
LogAnalyticsConfiguration.CustomerId is invalid. CustomerId must be a GUID
