Description
Describe the bug
I’ve been using Azure for ~1–1.5 years on the Azure for Students subscription ($100/yr). After the first year expired, my subscription moved to Disabled and I have been unable to renew/reactivate it despite following the documented renewal flow and multiple Q&A/forum answers.
Expected: As an eligible student, the yearly renewal/reactivation should succeed (or provide a clear remediation path).
Actual: The subscription remains Disabled after expiry, and the renewal path never completes (no actionable error or resolution). I’ve tried all commonly suggested fixes without success (see below).
I’ve already confirmed the usual causes do not apply to me:
“You’re not signing up with a school-issued email.” → I used my university email (student account).
“Your school/region doesn’t surface the student plan.” → The plan is listed/available in my region.
“Disable VPN.” → I’m not using a VPN.
Eligibility requirements (full-time at accredited 2–4 year university, verify via org email, not MOOC/pro training, one student subscription per customer). → I meet these; still eligible.
My subscription has remained Disabled since it was deactivated after the first year ended.
I have multiple relevant screenshots of the error messages and my subscription details, attached below:
I am pretty confident that I've tried most , if not all of, proposed solutions in Q&A, hence I think this is an actual bug which leads to business discontinuity.
