How to shortern a name of a policyAssignmentName

Hi,

So my code is:
var Tags = [
{
tagName: 'SubscriptionxxxxOwner'
}

tagName: 'PrimaryxxxxContact'
}

tagName: 'Secondaryxxxxxxontact'
}
]

resource policyassignment 'Microsoft.Authorization/policyAssignments@2022-06-01' = [ for (rpaTag,index) in Tags: {
name: '${rpaTag.tagName}${index}pol'
scope: managementGroup()

So i am tring to reduce the name as its too many characters. can't go over 24 characters.

i wonder if anyone had any ideas on how to achieve this please? thanks in advance

Thanks for your help, I didn't want it to be uniquestring. As when re running the policy, it will duplicate the policies each time. How can i trim it down to like 15characters?

Not sure what do you mean it will duplicate. If the input is unique the output will also be unique. Also the output is 13 characters. If you want to trim some string you can use substring() function.
