Be careful upgrading to HA 2025.12! #413

I encountered something similar-ish on this front. I cautiously upgraded, in the shadow of your warning, recording every setting before, and... nothing happened. There were not enough o's in smooth to describe the experience. That was days ago. Today I refreshed the browser window for the Energy dashboard, and I got the "wizard". (What the?) So I ignored it, and re-loaded the browser window again, and everything was again as expected, kind-of in line with your report. I probably had not been to that browser tab and refreshed it to the new frontend since upgrading. It was amusing that simply refreshing it again resulted in no wizard and goodness. Had I clicked "Next" in this "inviting" wizard then things will have gone the way they did for you. The thing should carry a warning. So thanks for the "heads-up" on this, BJ. |

There's a brand-new Energy Dashboard, and it takes you through a configuration dialog after upgrade. It looks like (at least for me), that you lose any carefully set up configuration post upgrade.
With a complex configuration, you may want to hold off, or make sure you've got a handy record, before upgrading.
I knew about the new dashboard, but didn't read carefully enough to know that I would lose existing config.
Apparently, if you see this, you can just click through (or click off to a different dashboard, and click back), and your old dashboard should still be there). If you configure (like I did) you'll lose anything that you don't configure (like individual devices).
