"Store up to an additional N days of work" is legit?

What's the point of the "Store up to an additional N days of work" option?
It seems the difference between the "Store at least N days of work" and the "Store up to an additional N days of work" is minimal, and it could confuse people.

It does confuse people, especially people who first started to use BOINC before the meaning of the two terms was interchanged a few years ago.

But it does have two purposes - I'll leave you to decide how important they are in the Android context.

1. It reduces the number of connections made to project servers to fetch work, because more work is fetched when only a small amount is (initially) needed.
2. It extends the period a device can continue to crunch when no network connection is possible.

My question is, is it really necessary to use both of them? In my understanding, the difference is so subtle, maybe it's not worth the extra complication, plus it would be easier to understand for newbies.

I find it confusing. I hope it will be condensed into a single parameter. A bigger issue that this does not address are servers that send too much work, more than the sum of those two values.
