How to allow autocompletes with spaces?

Am trying to use autocompletes with spaces, but when I hit the space key, the autocomplete box disappears...

Hey, this is how we would like it to work actually.
Maybe we could add an option to allow autocomplete after a space.

@bellolau any idea how this can be done? I played around with it a little but couldn't figure out the solution.
