Scripted branch is testing a new way of creating the blacklist. The previous method was 100% manual. Come across a spam server, report, add to list.
The new method is actively searching the master server results for spam IPs combining with the optional manual IP additions to the blacklist and then has a whitelist for some edge cases. Over 30 new IPs were found today across all regions.
Hand checked the generated list and tweaked settings. Some IPs that had spammed in the past are now offline or no longer spamming. Some of those servers will now drop off the blacklist. Every added IP on the blacklist is additional loading time. On older slower PCs a large list makes the load time unusable. Keeping the list as short as possible is important.
If some offending server goes on and off / cycles the spam on and off evading the automatic system that is where the manual list is used.
I hope this helps some CSS players out there.
