1.7.1 Erorr when ctrl+clicking in the tree view on a node with a custom instance name in monitoring mode

Describe the bug
Since 1.7.1 When in monitoring mode ctrl+clicking on a node that has a custom instance name will throw an error that the node can not be found in any tree.

To Reproduce
Set custom instance name on a subtree node and try opening it from the treeview when montoring.

Expected behavior
Open the specific subtree

I am having a hard time reproducing this issue. Does this happens with all the Subtrees or only with deeply nested ones?
