Rather than pinging people, you could actually automate the update process by using Mergify. With a few lines of YAML such as:

pull_request_rules:
 - name: update outdated PRs
   conditions:
     - base=main
   actions:
     update:

And be done with it.

(alternatively you could leverage Mergify to comment rather than update, if you prefer).
