The Android OPrime is an OpenSource experimentation software. It is currently being tested for suitability in two directions

The virtue of using Google’s Android platform gives researchers the possibility to integrate further video, audio and touch analysis using existing Open-Source Java libraries already developed by researchers in Pattern Recognition and Natural Language Processing. In addition, the Android’s business model (Shih et al 2010) allow hospitals and clinics to lock down devices and better control the security of patient data when integrating devices with existing EMR applications (Doukas et al 2010). The Android’s intent-based architecture allows for a plug-and-play connection and thus faster and more flexible integration with existing databases in data collection applications (Aanesen 2009) as well as other applications installed on the device.
