Belize is in North America, not South America. Ecdysis assigns it to South America.
(Also Cyprus is geographically part of Asia and is considered part of Asia by GBIF, but is assigned to Europe by Ecdysis. This is a bit more understandable, however, as Cyprus is politically part of Europe.)
