[Feature request] Leverage geographic thesaurus to allow searches across geographic synonyms/acronyms

E.g., if someone searches for specimens in the state "CA", they should see specimens in the state "California". If someone searches based on "USA", they should see "United States" records as well (I think this particular example is already baked in, but I'm thinking also instances like "Deutschland" and "Germany").

This functionality has already been implemented, with the following hotfix resolving a bug with the country search portion. Note that Deutschland would have to be in the geographic thesaurus with the correct ISO2 country code (DE) and pointing to Germany as the accepted name.

Aha, great! Looks like the state abbreviations never made it into CCH2, which would explain why a "CA" search was not being successfull.
