The scope of the Gordian Developer Community has been expanding for a while.
Though we continue to believe strongly in partitioning services to encourage the Gordian Principles of independence, privacy, resilience, and openness, that's today much bigger than the airgaps that we were considering several years ago.
For example, isolation of independent services can now be supported by not just airgaps, but also torgaps and the use of NFCs and MicroSDs — all features that we support in our reference app, Gordian Seed Tool, as examples of partitioning techniques. There is also the possibility of partitioning data to reduce honeypots while still keeping those services connecting to the internet. We believe that all of these options can be used to good effect to fulfill goals such as resilience.
We choose the name "Gordian Developer Community" for this update because the Gordian System today incorporates all of our developer-focused work, from Principles and Architecture to Specifications and Libraries, plus the Apps that demonstrate them.
If you are focused on airgap wallet development, yes, that remains a great methodology to support the Principles we espouse, and if you support other methods of partitioning and/or use our specifications, then welcome!
