Kike-canaries: air-quality Dapp for public health #18

Hi all. I'm Camilo. I'm a computer scientist from Bogota, core member at Hackbo hackerspace. I have been working with web3 and solidity contracts during the last year.
Kike-canaries Blockternship
Create a public health air-quality Dapp where users can report air pollution with sensors and receive compensations from ETH. This system works through donations that are addressed to a reward system, which later are evenly distributed as ETH donations to reporters.
Overview
Air pollution is one of the biggest world wide problems we have been facing during the last years. For reference I’ll quote recent articles from research organizations such as NOAA and WHO.

As urban air quality declines, the risk of stroke, heart disease, lung cancer, and chronic and acute respiratory diseases, including asthma, increases for the people who live in them.

Those articles among many others and our daily lives experiences on Bogota (which is becoming more and more contaminated during the past few years) , lead us to design:

So far we have built:
- And a mechanism to create incentives for people to contribute with Ethereum Ecosystem. (Blockternship proposal)
We propose to integrate our current and future solution with the Ethereum ecosystem, creating a Dapp with the following characteristics:

A reward system taking into account simple factors such as: air- quality reports per day and distance traveled. And it will improve as we evolve the system and create value.

Smart contracts to reward users from donations according to daily air quality reports using our public api and pollution sensors.

Smart contracts to control the access of donors, users (and general public) to air-quality visualization website and or Air-quality API.
Philosophy
We are a community of open source activists with a wide range of skills on different knowledge fields. Kike-canaries is one of our Hackbo community citizen science projects, with the goal to contribute to the air quality index knowledge base. Not only to create air quality awareness and conscience on citizens, but also on the government which in some cases mislead pollution reports.
Next Steps
- Continue to build the reward system alongside a fair algorithm, to compensate pollution reports while walking, cycling, driving, public transport or home.
- Create partnerships with more environmental communities and organizations worldwide.
- Build a decentralized organization were anyone in the world could connect to a community of citizen scientists and environmental activists and be rewarded to contributions of any kind.

We believe this project would align with @Giveth as this is a community collaboration and could be built on top of giveth-dapp. Also could match with @aragon as we think we could eventually create a decentralized organization related with public health and environment.
