Description
BlueBubbles Server crashes on macOS 16 (Tahoe) immediately when a client connects
Environment:
- macOS 16.1 (Tahoe)
- Intel Macbook Pro i9 + reprodukováno i na M4
- BlueBubbles Server 1.9.9 (latest stable)
Summary
BlueBubbles Server launches normally, but crashes instantly at the moment the client attempts to connect (Linux / Android / Windows does not matter).
The crash is 100% reproducible and happens even on a clean installation with no plugins, no old configs, and full permissions granted.
This is not a permissions issue.
This is not a macOS security popup issue.
This is not related to TCC or Full Disk Access.
The crash log shows a Node/V8 Out-of-Memory error triggered by buffer allocation inside Electron when handling the incoming connection.
This suggests an internal issue in BlueBubbles’s Electron layer.
Additional note:
I can confirm the exact same crash behavior also occurs on a Mac mini M4 running macOS 16 (Tahoe).
The server launches correctly, but crashes immediately the moment any client connects, with the same SIGABRT / V8 buffer OOM error.
This means the issue is not limited to Intel Macs — it also affects Apple Silicon (M-series).
