print or export PDF booklet to custom paper size (i.e., stop auto scaling of original page size) #139

I've wasted 20+ hours of my life this week. Boomaga export .PDF feature closer than anything to solution, but I'm DEAD STUCK. Please help?

Goal: Print on (or create PDF for) 6.5" x 4.25" paper. Have 28pg PDF of page size 3.25" x 4.25." On Ubuntu using Boomaga 3.0.0. I am root.

Software creates booklet spreads in correct layout! (Only Linux resource I've found to do this much.)

Under "Printer" header, Boomaga dropdown shows my 3 printers, under each only option is DEFAULT. Boomaga fails me by auto scaling page size to LETTER on 2 printers and A4 on the other. One printer is Generic-Cups-BRF-Printer; one is my HP LaserJet that does duplex and can handle the required paper size.

How to get my needed final booklet page size?

I've tried...
—to educate myself on PPD editing, leading nowhere, and found PPDs do NOT even show DefaultPageSizes that match size of pages to which Boomaga insists on converting.
—going into printer system settings and changing default page size, but no option for custom pages; even changing paper sizes has had no effect with Boomaga.
—creating custom page sizes in other Document Viewer, Acrobat Reader,... but evidently functions totally disconnected from .PPDs
—altering margin settings in Boomaga, but that seems only to move the pages on the canvas of the larger forced paper sizes

Nothing I've tried stops the scaling to those LETTER and A4 results. I am NOT an IT person. If anyone is nice enough to try to help, please respond and explain to me as if I'm a ten-year old.
