Unable to add octopus_energy:electricity_* as electricity source

Describe the bug

My Home Assistant version (2026.3.4) seems to only allow selecting an entity type for "energy imported from grid" for the energy dashboard, so the hourly breakdown statistics exported by the plugin can't be used for it.

Reproduction steps

1. Add integration
2. Try to add the correct statistics for the dashboard data source
3. Only the daily sensor is present

Expected behaviour

I'm not sure what the right solution here, since as I understand it using an entity would create a 24 hour drift in data. Am I just missing some HA configuration to let me select a statistic, or is this a breaking change in the Energy Dashboard?

This is not specific to the electricity statistics - I was looking at setting this up for my gas usage last week and came across the same issue: the octopus_energy:* statistics can be selected for the 'Entity with the total costs' options for gas and electricity, but not for the 'Gas consumption' or 'Energy imported from grid' options that actually make the Energy Dashboard work.

I'm also on 18.1.2 but running HA 2026.3.3

Hmm it looks like HA might have introduced additional filters which are preventing the statistics sensors from being added. I can't see anything in the internal apis that allow adding additional information. I'll need to raise a ticket against HA to see if this was intentional, or try and see if there's another way of achieving this result.

I believe is this fixed as part of the latest beta https://github.com/BottlecapDave/HomeAssistant-OctopusEnergy/releases/tag/v19.0.0-beta.3 or as part of the latest HA release (2026.3.4)

Can confirm that updating to v19.0.0-beta.3 allows the statistic sensors to be selected.
