Extension ignores state of workbench.editor.enablePreview when opening files

I have my setting workbench.editor.enablePreview set to enabled (default) so that when you open a file, it will open it in "preview". However the extension ignores this setting and always opens every file in locked mode. This is slightly annoying as usually when opening files from E4E I want to only preview them. After using the extension for a few minutes, my editor is full with tabs.

On second thoughts, maybe this is a good "feature" to ignore it, as this setting is enabled by default and a lot of developers say they really don't like it. So maybe just an E4E setting, enabled by default that if enabled, overrides this setting, if disabled, does not (or similar). Seems counter intuitive writing it but it makes sense since it means developers using E4E never get the "preview" state unless they explicily go into settings to disable it somewhere (which is something - dare I say - many mainframers in my org are incapable of figuring out themselves because VSC is such an alien environment to them)
