Field Group label selection tempremental and needs attention

Describe the bug
The field group's Label setting (being above or to the left) is tempremental and seems to require the screen level being set to Flex (although only temporarily) in order to work. Overall it could benefit from some attention.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behaviour:

1. Add a form component to the screen (while set to Grid)
2. Add a Field Group
3. Add a text field to the Field Group and set the Labels setting of the Field Group to Left
4. Switch to Flex (at the screen level) which should then set the field labels to the left.
5. You can then switch back to grid

Expected behavior
Labels should adhere to the left/above setting regardless of screen-level grid/flex display setting.
