Run automations in preview #18013

Describe the feature request
Currently, automations cannot be executed from the dev preview environment. This makes it very difficult to test workflows before promoting changes to production (when using the dev/prod environment switcher).
The request is to allow automations to be triggered and tested directly within the dev preview environment, so users can safely validate them without impacting production data.
