[Bug - Classic Era] Not auto swapping after reload/install

It appears that each time I enter game, I have to do an /ag scan and /ag enable to get it to work. So it seems that the db isn't storing or possibly recalling the settings correctly? No bugsack errors.

This sounds like it could be a result of one of the configuration files overriding another. I haven't experienced that, but I can imagine it happening. Can you please try to do the following, then let me know what you observed?

1. Close the game
2. Find your AutoGear.wtf files in your character-specific and account-wide "WTF" (WoW text file; saves addon settings) directory and rename any of them that you find to anything else
3. Run the game and log in
4. Configure AutoGear how you like
5. Close the game again
6. Run the game again and log in again
7. Check if AutoGear is configured how you configured it in step 4

Doing it now, weird part is the settings always showed correctly, just would not auto gear upgrades until I did a scan. Going through your steps now and will see if upgraded gear gets applied automatically now.

When you've logged in and it still hasn't run a scan automatically when you've expected that it should, can you please run each of the following commands in the chat box and tell me if the result is nil?

Please tell me in a numbered list corresponding to my list here whether each result is nil. This will help me understand the state the addon's in when it's not scanning automatically. Thank you!

By the way, the addon intentionally doesn't run a scan on login. It should update the best items it knows about internally, but it intentionally won't auto-equip best items until you level up, loot gear, or run a scan manually.

It's been when I loot gear for the first time. That is when I do the scan and enable. Haven't looted a new upgrade yet, so waiting to see if the steps worked or not

Ok, after logging in and then got an upgrade drop, it did not attempt to do a check or swap. I got a second drop without doing anything besides the /dump's as you requested and it attempted to swap gear. But didn't do the swap. Here is what the verbosity showed set at 1 for that attempt.

I manually did an /ag scan and that allowed the item to be equipped

Ok, so I reloaded and then did a turn in for an item that would be an upgrade. I did not get any verbosity about the item being an upgrade and that it would be equipped. Shortly after that, I did another turn in for a gear item that I couldn't use. That triggered the scan and it equipped the first item due to being an upgrade.

Based on that, it appears that after logging in/reloading the On_Load is not happening and not loading the settings until after an event happens from looting a gear item. Not saying that is what's happening, but that's how I see it happening here.

Been watching this more closely while gaining new items. It is definitely not consistent as to when the scan occurs. Some times, it see a new item and then does the scan, other times it just misses whatever the trigger is and does nothing.

I use auto loot, so I am going to disable any addons that I have installed that includes auto loot. This way it is using just the default auto loot. My thought here is that auto loot is happening too quickly for AG to see an update and that it needs to scan.

I've seen this issue too, although extremely rarely. I recently leveled 11 characters from 1 to 80 in mainline WoW and saw the issue fewer than 5 times in all that leveling, with a ton of quest gear, looted greens, and several dungeons.

I have some ideas on how to fix it, but they are a bit convoluted, so I'm not sure when I'll get around to it. When I personally saw the issue those few times, I did a quick /ag scan workaround, but of course I agree that it is an uncomfortable issue.

Next time I see the issue, I'll run my /dump commands above and see which ones are nil, if any.

Still having problems where it will not start a scan after getting an item from loot. I looked at the code to see if there was maybe an event issue or some other event that it could listen for, but nothing my limited addon experience could see.

I also tried moving the chat loot msg event to the top of the script thinking maybe something else was doing a return before it could reach that event. Didn't help.

I will run those dump commands and report them here.
