Dear CWE Content Development Repository Participants,
We are excited to announce that the CWE Content Development Repository (CDR) will be going fully public in our next release which is scheduled for April 3rd, 2025. Rather than the CDR being a private repository accessible by invite only, it will be completely opened up to the public as a public GitHub repository. This will give any community member the ability to view and interact with existing submissions.
We feel that this is the next big step in community developed content, allowing a broader audience to give input and collaborate on existing submissions. With our main goal being increased collaboration, there also is a responsibility on us as the CWE team to contribute to and help facilitate these discussions. Moving forward, the CWE team aims to increase responsiveness and address comments in a timely manner. To guide priorities for submissions, the CWE team has adopted an informal "fairness policy" to ensure fair treatment for all submitters. We plan to document and publish this policy in the coming weeks.
Here are some things worth keeping in mind as the CDR moves public:
If you have any questions or concerns about the transition to a public repository, please let us know.
Thank you, The CWE Team
