`PROTON_ADD_CONFIG` helper variable

Description

The helper environment variable PROTON_ADD_CONFIG in Proton-EM and GE-Proton is nice for non-verbose launch parameters. Usage instructions are here: https://github.com/Etaash-mathamsetty/Proton/blob/em-10/docs/EM-ADDITIONS.md#options

I do not consider it that useful, Proton already has STEAM_COMPAT_CONFIG which can be used in the same way STEAM_COMPAT_CONFIG+="config1,config2" if needed. Proton also already offers user_settings.py to statically set env variables in. Lastly, many of the env variables proton-cachyos implements take an argument other than 1, which would need to be replicated somehow, results in ever increasing complexity.

The same can be achieved with a script in the form of

export ENV1=whatever
exec "$@"

and myscript.sh %command%

There are more than enough alternatives already.

Good to know! Did not know about STEAM_COMPAT_CONFIG. I was mostly concerned about people swapping between one of the other runners and cachy, then having to redo their env. variables if they used PROTON_ADD_CONFIG (noticed this myself). It sounds like, then, that the runners should be noting STEAM_COMPAT_CONFIG in the documentation and removing this one.

It's not particularly easy to use TBH, that's why I didn't close the request myself. Steam itself will set STEAM_COMPAT_CONFIG and thus the syntax should be exactly as I mentioned it above to append to it, otherwise it might override what Steam sets. I consider the script possibly the best approach, but I will re-open this while I put this into consideration again.

i would really like to see this, i mean we all love flexibility but right now i want to use v3 versions since my cpu seems to be at lower temps and then i discovered PROTON_ADD_CONFIG which is quite useful and eleminates theese long strings nobody can read in small steam windows
