In vanilla minecraft, adding something such as \u00A70 (which would be black), would cause the color/formatting of the characters afterwards to change respectively. In CanaryMod build 804, this is not so. Instead of adding pretty colors and formatting, it just puts that raw text into the server list MOTD, making it look very unpleasant (not to mention unprofessional). This could be achieved using a plugin, however, this should not be necessary since it is possible to do in Vanilla Minecraft without the use of mods or plugins. As well, the \n character for newline does not work either.
