Hi, it seems to be covered somewhat in an issue for git-lfs: git-lfs/git-lfs#3400.

It seems to be an intermittent issue.

I can try to add ca-certificates to the Docker image, but other than that, I am not sure.
If it persists, a toggle could be added to run git config lfs.locksverify false as suggested, meaning it will set this independent of the URL (ignoring the <unknown> part of the error message above).

Thanks for investigating! I'd really appreciate it if those changes could be made (I tried setting lfs.locksverify false but I guess it didn't transfer to the docker container which I guess makes sense).

It looks like git-lfs/git-lfs#5815 might be closer to the actual issue, given the same <unknown> protocol error
