As I wonder about the possible uses of tools such as these, I can see potential in summarizing in human language so much information about the various liturgical calendars. This would however require a fairly large context window, so that the LLMs could handle large responses from the API. Not only does the API respond with the calendar data, it also responds with an array of
messagesthat explain everything that is being done in the calculations: liturgical events that are suppressed, moved, reinstated, liturgical events that possibly clash in any given year (in these cases, the Dicastery for Divine Worship will usually issue a note on what to do).Some example prompts:
I don't believe this is currently feasible with small context windows, but this could become a great tool for the liturgical offices of Bishops Conferences and for the Dicastery for Divine Worship, to automate some checks. Perhaps using more powerful LLMs with larger context windows, which would require some powerful equipment (server farm with powerful graphics cards).
