upgrade to version 2.5.2 - does not pass "loading keyring status"

I recently installed Chia 2.5.2 on my MacBook Pro. After starting it stalls at "loading keyring status" and does not seem to be able to continue, so I am still at version 2.5.0 which does work. The new version 2.5.3 still does not solve my issue. So I am still back at version 2.5.0. Search for keyring similar discussions returned a discussion on version 1.5/1.7. I tried deleting the wallet/db-map, but did not work. Any suggestions to help me get to version 2.5.3?

Hey @rolandbezemer ,

As of chia version 2.4.4 MacOS version 12 is no longer supported so if you have a MacOS version older than 13 you will need to update the OS in order to use the chia client with the packaged installer.

What version of MacOS are you running?

If it is not the MacOS version then we may need to check the python version being used and install method for the chia client

Yes, I'm afraid I still have MacOS 12.7.6. It is an old Macbook

@rolandbezemer Gotcha so that would definitely be it, are you able to upgrade the OS then redownload the chia client to try again?

Alternatively there is a more advanced process (requires manually installing chia and a number of dependencies) if it is not possible to upgrade the OS:
