Does plotting impact farming?

I have been farming from v1.0.0 but I have not received any XCH since the 6 that appeared overnight from 1.0.2 when I was not plotting a few weeks ago. That even got me really optimistic. I only had around 20 plots at the time. I now have 124 — and counting.

That night I saw four about 2am then started plotting a new set of 4inP then saw 2 more in the morning, around 5am. I thought that things were going very well, even though I was ahead of the statistical average.

Now, this thing is not looking so hot, so I'm suspecting other issues. Port 8444 has been confirmed several times, but there may be other issues that need to be addressed; i.e. the health of my plots. Any way to check that?
