1.2.5 not showing new plots

Plots not showing in farmer or pool plot tab. Please help

1.2.4 brought in new settings in config.yaml that you might need to add manually:

  plots_refresh_parameter:
    batch_size: 30
    batch_sleep_milliseconds: 10
    interval_seconds: 120

under the harvester: section, just under the last of your plot entries, just above the port number...
make sure you adheere to the indentation, 2 spaces infront of the first entry, and 4 spaces the the 3 following sub entries!

@Meep1264 you are right... I just noticed after a few mins the farm is no longer adding the new plots again ! It seems to be getting stuck. I've stopped the farm and restarted the farm and the new plots are added now so something must the hanging in the refresh loop.

I'm testing this one more time by adding more plots to the farm and will confirm shortly.

if you can, follow it up with a chia farm summary CLI command, and perhaps even go through your debug.log file with INFO logging, to confirm / deny that the harvester is actually reporting the number of plots - and it is solely an GUI display bug ? thank you!

I'm glad you suggested this... so no a chia farm summary is also not displaying all my new plots. Any suggestions on how to get chia to see my new ones? In the last versions before 1.2.4 or 1.2.5 they would auto populate as i moved them to my farm.

@loppefaaret I can confirm I have the same symptoms as @Meep1264 - I'm only using CLI and just added a few more plots and left the harvester for over 4 hrs and 'chia farm summary' number of plots didn't update. Running "chia start harvester -r" the additional plots are found.

Hi all, I can confirm I have the same issue using Win10 via CLI. I have to restart the full node every time to pick new plots. @diaconom explanation looks correct, its as if the file is marked as incorrect due to the copy. Pre-1.2.4 this worked fine.

yeah, the interval_seconds should determin how often it scans the folders for new plots - if set to 120, every 2 minutes, upon the next challenge received from farmer, it scans for new plot files

All new added plots show as "failed to open" until restart of chia. This has always been the case in old versions but they would still count in farm and pool tabs.

in any case the harvester encounters an invalid plot, it will mark it as so, and ignore it for 20 minutes - after which it removes the mark - the GUI has always been sticky as you mention - so that is no longer the case ? even after 20+ minutes, the plot is not added ?

Looks like @diaconom has a good temporary solution that is much faster than restarting the chia client. chia start harvester -r populated all my plots that i moved today and even updated the GUI!

i would like to confirm this behavior myself first, but so far, it is looking like something we pontentially need to excalate into an issue - thank you both for helping me tracking it down!

@loppefaaret I did a few more tests... It seems like my remote harvest is working fine (after the config addition recommended above) and no issues with it adding new plots as its plotting new ones. The problem seems to be more on my main farm, when I transfer files from my plotter I believe the harvester must be erroring out since the file takes about 15~20mins to transfer and it would be locked. When transfer is complete I notice the harvester on the farm does not recheck the file so it will not be counted until the harvester is restarted. I could test renaming the file not to end with .plot before I start the transfer and rename after but my luck I've run out of space on the farm !!

If you need me to test I could delete some OG plots and do some more testing.

But do let us know if you can confirm the same behaviour.
