Unable to complete plot creation - plot creation just freezes and hangs

I've created 84 x K33 plots so far in my farming endeavours, but about a month or so ago, I upgraded to 1.2.7, and ever since then (I think - can't be certain), I have not been able to complete a plot creation. It just fails and hangs at various different percentages - nothing clearly telling me what's causing the plot creation activity to freeze/hang. My settings for a K33 plot are the same I used under the previous version with Max RAM being doubled from 7400 to 14800. Threads are increased from 2 to 4. Buckets are halved from 128 to 64 - everything else is left standard (I.E., I have not disabled bitfield plotting).

Please help as I sill have another 60TB of disk space yet to fill... 😭

i recommend going 128 buckets, and sticking to 7400 memory... if your plots just hangs, and there are no error reported in the log, you are likely having issues from your RAM - try and disable XMP / DOCP in the BIOS

I've actually got one running now which is using the standard settings as stated and I've also tried disabling bitfield plotting. My system is 7-8 years old and doesn't have the XMP/DOCP activated in the BIOS. I have my fingers crossed as it is sitting at 21% - but each plot takes approx. 24 hours to create, so have my fingers ATM... 🤞

Thanks for the advice though. It's just strange for it to work - not all the time as I probably had a 85-90%. But for it to suddenly fail on all attempts, I am actually really worried due to the investment in the storage. Do you know if there's any way to go back to a previous version at all? 🤔

you can download any of the old releases from our release page:
https://github.com/Chia-Network/chia-blockchain/releases
for plotting, you can use whatever you like to use, but for farming, i can only recommend 1.2.8+

Thanks for that. I noticed that 1.2.9 has just dropped, so am trying the problem has been corrected. The standard plot using standard settings that I said I would try also failed. If I have no luck with this, then I think I will revert - at least until I can fill all of my empty HDD space.

Quick question, can you plot with one version of Chia and farm with another? I.E., do you know if you can run both versions concurrently?!?
