If it isnt synced, im thinking there is a very good chance that you have yet to pass the block that contains the transaction, and therefor are not seeing the coins yet - i would recommend trying to install the 1.3.0 release, and run it in "Wallet only" mode.
I feel confident that withing minutes, you will see and have control over your funds
