USB Powers Off During Sleep

I have an Asus B550 motherboard, with an AMD 5700X3D and RX 7600. Whenever I sleep, the USB ports lose power meaning they can not be used to wake the computer. I already made sure that in the BIOS the always power usb is enabled and ErP ready is disabled, so at this point I am assuming the issue is some chimeraos configuration given that this used to work when I used windows on this same hardware.

I just wanted to see if there are any specific changes or things I can check to understand why the USB ports are not remaining powered

If your hardware uses s2idle then it is possible. Verify it and read the first chapter of https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Power_management/Wakeup_triggers keep in mind that a lot of amd motherboard have an OS toggle that will also change the sleep mode.

Thanks, I see the option you are referring to in the archlinux wiki, doesn't seem like my bios has that option though. Based on searches the B550 and 5700X3D should support s2idle. When I check I get

$ cat /sys/power/mem_sleep
s2idle [deep]

s2idle is required to do what you want ad if usb wakes s3 is firmware-dependant (and I don't see much success) and so you have to find the motherboard option to toggle to s2idle, there is no other way around it as amd systems cannot simply choose s2idle or deep at runtime
