Description
Description
Currently, Kotaemon lets users set language preferences in two different spots:
- Reasoning settings: I'm assuming this controls the language used for the internal reasoning and knowledge processing stuff.
- Chat settings: This seems to be for the language used in the actual chat interface and interactions.
The thing is, these two settings aren't the same by default, and that can be pretty confusing for users. I think it would make a lot more sense if the Chat settings language defaulted to match the Reasoning language. That way, users would have a more consistent experience right out of the box.
Reproduction steps
1. Go to 'Settings - Reasoning settings'
2. Set the language to a different language than English
3. Click Save & Close
4. Back to Chat
5. Click the triangle next to chat settings
6. View Language optionsScreenshots
