I love this idea for a grunt task. Great work.

The only thing I'm missing, that seems obvious, is having the sitemap nest lists according to a pages level of depth?

That's definitely something I'll want to work on. I'll leave this open so I'm reminded to add that feature. I'd like to see that as well.
