Description
Here my comments and suggestions:
-1b_system intro:
Renewable Energy: the last sentence doesn´t seem right there. ("where single-function applications were identified.")
Stand-alone PV Systems
- Important point to add: Good for remote locations / rural areas with no grid connection. Allows self-supply with electrical energy.
- I wouldn´t call the losses "significant" since the aim is not high efficiency / low losses but to have access to electricity at all...
- the last sentence doesn´t belong into the line "disadvantages". And I would rewrite the sentence (for example "The figure below shows an example for the main components af a stand-alone PV system")
Stand-alone hybrid systems
- I would suggest: since batteries can only store a limited amount of energy, it is possible to use the backup generator, if the weather conditions prevent the PV or wind generators from generating energy
-(energy self sufficiency is also an advantage of the stand alone PV systems but hybrid systems have a higher reliability)
-Figure is not displayed, just the path
Grid connected PV systems
- better not to start sentences with "It is a..." it doesn´t sound very good ;)
-Disadvantages: I would write: "the energy supply depends on the grid and the power transmission infrastructure." or something like that
1f V): "Other criteria for the comparison of Centralized/Decentralized are to evaluate the resiliency of the combined infrastructure, the impact on sustainability due to Centralized/Decentralized or both as it relates to diminishing radiation, decreasing emissions, and reducing environmental effects" it´s not clear what you want to say, in my opinion. Don´t put too much information into one sentence.
VI) I think it is misleading to say that centalized systems (power plants) are less safe then for example a PV system at home. It doesn´t need high voltage to kill or harm, and the operators at power plants are professionals who know how to handle the technology. Plus, there are high safety standards and quality management standards (as far as I know). Whereas at decentral / home installations, unprofessional users / persons can be involved.
3a, 5 safety rules:
-switch off (and disconnect?)
- I don´t understand the last 2 points, about the short circuit of phases and what is meant by the last point. Maybe explain in a few words.
Overall you did a very good job!
