license and child theme for Gentelella template

I would like to know the license terms for Gentelella template and if it is possible to create a child theme for changing the css stylesheet.

Hello,

It is licensed under the MIT license. Therefore, you can essentially do whatever you want with the template as long as you reference the original work. Even sell a child theme or sorts if you want.

I would like to use the template but I need to change some parts of stylesheet. I am not quite sure how to make the child theme of this template. Do you have any instructions about it?
