Link Render Mode selection not saving between sessions

Prerequisites

• I am running the latest version of ComfyUI
• I have custom nodes enabled

What happened?

A somewhat small issue, but it has become annoying over time. After selecting a preferred link render mode (linear in this case), the setting is not saved between sessions. The next launch it reverts to the default spline mode. This in on a working portable Comfy installation. It would be great if this could be saved to persist across sessions.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Change Link Render Mode to something other than spline in settings
2. Close ComfyUI
3. Relaunch ComfyUI
4. Links show as spline style, not the other selected style

This might be related to a persistence bug in v1.38.13 that was fixed in v1.38.14. Upgrading to the latest frontend version may resolve this.

If upgrading doesn't help, a few things to check:

• Open browser DevTools (F12) → Network tab, then change the Link Render Mode setting. Look for a POST request to /settings/Comfy.LinkRenderMode and verify it returns status 200
• Check if other settings (like theme or canvas zoom) also fail to persist, which would indicate a broader backend storage issue

The Link Render Mode setting is stored server-side, so if the POST succeeds but the setting still doesn't persist, it could be a backend write permissions issue.

Yes, Comfy is only ever launched from my user account.
