Audio in main storyline is disappearing after updating Libraries to 11.1.1

I've recently had to update a couple of projects from the last couple of years to use FCPX 11.1.1 and when I do, the audio in the main storyline, mostly interviews, seems to disappear...sometimes there are no wave forms, sometimes there are but nothing plays. It's probably something simple, but the fix has eluded me and I need to get on this. I've pasted a couple of screenshots of what it looks like. Thanks in advance for any advice.
