This is a welcome surprise. Motion VFX offers some of the best plug-ins and templates I do truly hope Apple liberates them from the subscription paywall. I bought a bit of plugins from Motion VFX in the past and never had an issue with their quality. I was considering a few M VFX plug ins a couple of weeks ago but turned away when I saw that they did not offer even the option to buy plug ins anymore. I already don't like subscriptions but Plug ins in particular are really not a good fit for that model particularly if one must restore an old project and have to resubscribe to a site just to render an effect used. As Steven Jobs once said "a bag of hurt." As you mentioned, I imagine this will be used to add considerable value to the Apple Creator Studio but I truly hope they make the plug-ins available for purchase or we might be into the same "hurt bag" already mentioned. And yes- I think Motion VFX engineers could potentially add a certain spice FCP and Motion can use. Kind of messed up letting go of the Resolve team. FCP is my editor of choice but why not keep the love already shared to others. |
