Feature Request: Keymap to yank to register

It would be nice to have a default keymap to yank to a register (as an alternative to inserting into the buffer)

A bit confused. Doesn't y in normal mode already yank to register?

Yes, but you have to select the text. I was thinking a keymap that uses require("CopilotChat").response(). That would skip having to make a selection first.
