SSL certificate as strings instead of local files?

Greetings I would like to know if instead of using Uri class to specify a certificate on the file system, if it is possible to just pass those params as strings for simplicity?

We will be exposing the SSL context directly in Resbted 5.0 via a NetworkAdaptor interface. It will not make it into the 4.* branch.
