Diagram of data flow

Thanks for this project and the nice documentation so far!

Can you add a diagram for which data flows where? Possibly showing small snippets of the data that would be sent between each step. Like "{userid1:FA3BC123, userid2:75FA3BC, dist:2}" gets sent from phone to server. I'd like to know more about the protocol. Also, how the device id is used and encoded.
