The issue boils down to AllParticleTypes.BASIN_FLUID not working, the outward shot particles using AllParticleTypes.FLUID_PARTICLE works perfectly and replacing the data used for these particles works as intended however does not produce the same desired effect.

I think I have found the issue: the particle rotation ends up inverting them, in a way back-face culling discards it, sending a PR right now.
